Birthday Celebration 2009
ws, sean and me were contemplating whether to go to Straits Cafe @ Rendezvous Hotel or Le Meridien Hotel for dinner buffet. we settled for the pricier one at Straits Cafe and 'cos Le Meridien Hotel building looks kinda ulu :X
feeling a little bored without Brina around! :(
One honestly cannot expect too much from a buffet, after all, how good can food prepared en masse be? So taking it for what it is, this restaurant and this buffet works pretty well for me though the varieties are pretty limited.
有点无聊... after having a few rounds of achar achar, indian rojak, grilled seabass and fried seabass. and repeat. they're really yummy though and 'cos i can't take seafood and i'm halal, i've really limited stuff to eat. aiyo lugi only eat buffet!!!
this is what happens when i eat durians, especially when i thought it's a yummy custard cream puff zzz. durians are my nightmare. sean thought i ate lemon and ws was all shocked LOL.

ws aimed loads of seafood especially Oysters & prawns while sean whacked lots of meat. btw there's no free flow of drinks at all. only iced water and coffee or tea.
and yes that's a Durian Puree. the Durian Twins you see here call it the Durian Shot machiam Tequila Shot -_-

erm my bf and jake look alike meh !? i've like so many ppl mistaking jake as my bf.
anyway he just came back from Taipei just a week ago after some training. he even bought me Hello Kitty mints in a tin (though he frowns all the time when i talk about Hello Kitty HAHA) and lots of 太阳饼 & pineapple tarts, and dark chocolates for mum. he'll officially be 3rd Sergeant this Friday haha.

he suddenly jumped out from one of the pillars at the void deck and surprised me with a big bouquet of hot pink roses and lilies so cute! and when we were about to drive off, there was a black Honda Fit which drove over and parked beside us. i remembered it was driven by some indian lady so i didn't take a second look but i was wrong!!! Brina came knocking at the window and i was like so shocked! if i wasn't 10mins late when bf told me he had already reached, Brina would have missed me! awww everything just fell right into place on my Birth Day! :D huge surprise! she bought me Clinique's new Perfume, "Happy Heart" placed in a big white box with hot pink hand-made ribbons SO PRETTY! she remembers i have Clinique's Limited Edition: Happy In Bloom! so sweet of her ^^
oh and bf had already given me my Birthday present in late September. a Da Vinci watch with crystals, which is the white watch pictured in all the pictures in this post. i happen to find out that it's like 400 over dollars per piece for this limited edition series so i told him not to buy such an expensive item next time & save up for his new car hehe but he said it's ok. however i know what i'm getting for him next year already! can't wait! last year he gave me a Guess watch too but a few of the crystals have fallen out and there was no warranty for the crystals. i still wear it occasionally though!
before we headed home for the cake-cutting, he took me to ASTONS for a simple lunch. no pictures of ourselves here 'cos we both look funny hehe...
Chargrilled Salmon Fillet
i love it! it was our first time there at ASTONS. do you believe me if i say the both of us have never heard of ASTONS? LOL like mountain-tortise right 'cos it seems that all of my friends know about this place and we don't, until his sister suggested the place for us to go to.
the waiters and waitresses are really friendly! i love the salmon and it's so succulent, it's a little crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. the creme sauce goes well with the fish. it's the best grilled salmon i've had so far and the price surpasses the quality! each main course that you order, comes with 2 complimentary sides. the onion rings were abit soft but fine. Carl's Junior's onion rings taste the best hehe. the coleslaw's damn good! you can see all the different vegetables sliced thinly and put together. i thought the best coleslaw is at Charcos @ AMK Blk Ave 5 but ASTONS's proved me wrong!
Prime Ribeye
he loves ribeye-s lol. he says it's so much better than NYDC's new-relased Ribeye Steak. we went to NYDC just a week before and i had the Roasted Fillet of Cream Dory. super creamy with generous serving of Dory but you get kinda sick of the cream after a few mouthfuls...
i really love ASTONS!!!
then we caught Ninja Assassin. yes watching Rain with 0% fats lol was good HEHE however i find the storyline kinda similar to Blood: The Last Vampire. lots of bloodshed, lots of fighting!
well, this year's celebration may not be as wild as last year's but i enjoyed it very much because it's the first time i cut a Birthday cake at home, with my loved ones like my mum, jake and bf singing the Birthday song really loudly to me. i felt like i was the Princess lol. i'm so blessed! love all of you! :)
